2002 SRF Convocation: Another Wonderful Year!!!

Over twenty devotees from Georgia traveled to Los Angeles, California to attend the 2002 Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. A full week of activities brought joy and spiritual fellowship and renewal to all who attended. Pilgramages to sacred sites such as Mt. Washington, the Lake Shrine, Hollywood Temple, Forest Lawn, and Yoganandaji's hermitage in Encinitas brought devotees from around the world closer together and closer to our Guru. Classes were held on the SRF techniques, satsangas (ministers answering questions submitted by devotees), Kirtan meditations (chanting), Kriya Initiations, and both an opening and closing reception allowing devotees to meet and be greeted by the SRF monastics.

It was announced that over 4000 people came from 48 countries and 50 states to spend the week in Divine inspiration. Talks were given every night followed by meditations. Some of the speakers were Brother Anandamoy, Brother Bimalanada, Brother Mitrananda, Brother Chittananda, Sister Uma Mata, Sister Mukti Ma, Brother Achelanda, Brother Vishwananda, Brother Bhaktananda, and many others. Films and slide shows were presented. Monks and Nuns of the SRF order were available to counsel devotees requesting guidance. A new video with Sri Daya Mata was released, and a new talk by Yoganandaji was also released on cassette tape. There is also a new CD with Kirtan music.
